We had to conquer one obstacle before we got there. You see, you have to ride a bus to get to the park and our kids have never ridden a bus and we did not know how they would do. Being enclosed in a tube is not that great for sensory issue kids. to our astonishment...they loved it. called it the "big, white bus" and we got on, sat down and rode to the park. Here are some pics from the bus ride...
Braylen had to find his friends...

Now, we rode the bus to the park and got out and the first thing we wanted to do was go on the Kilimanjaro Safaris. This is where you ride an open air truck through a 100 acre savannah made to look like an African savannah. If you click on the link, you can see what the truck looked like.
*SIDE BAR* sunny was told about a pass that we could get for the kids because of their autism. it is kind of like a handicapped pass. we got to go straight to the front of the line and we were on the truck in no time.
ok, so we thought it would be no problem. well, it was loud and crowded on the truck and it was a little claustrophobic and Kynsie freaked. We thought that if she could get into the ride and see the animals that she would calm down...not so. screamed the entire time. however, she did calm down when we would see an animal or something, but the minute the truck started back up so did she. did i mention it was like 100 degrees also??? man, it was hot. but, we got through it and got to see some really cool animals...here are some pics...OH...by the way, Kyan (our "normal freak-out child) was AMAZING...didn't make a peep!!!
