Disney - Day 1

ok folks...many of you know that we took off on an expedition to disney. we drove all the way to gainsville, fl last night and stayed at a holiday inn express which was interesting. see the kids had just fallen asleep (10:30 pm) when we stopped. we got two rooms and got them into bed. well, sunny had big boy (braylen) with her and i had kyan and kynsie in the bed with me. NOW...to say that it was a good night's sleep would be...well...it wasn't really. but we got through it and made it to disney today at about 12:00 pm. we ate lunch and then went for a swim. we are staying at the disney beach club resort on the property so we had a great time. here are some pictures from today.

by the way...the van drove GREAT!

Kyan getting out to go jump in again...LOVED it... About to take the plunge SPLASH!!!!!

Just chillin....

Now if you are an avid follower/reader of our blog (and i know you are!) then you know that the kids are on a strict GFCF diet and we've talked in the past about what we feed them and all that. Well, you also know that we don't go out to eat to restaurants because there aren't many places that will accomodate us and we usually have to lug kids food in. Well, here at Disney they do it right. there are places that serve GFCF menus and use dedicated fryers and all that for people with allergies. Tonight we went to Epcot and ate in America at Liberty Inn. It was an american place with hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets. Nothing fancy...BUT I'm telling you that it didn't matter - it felt like Ruth's Chris. Here's why...the kids had their own meals made for them and i'm not talking about a tahini butter and jelly sandwich or crackers and hummus...it was hamburgers and hot dogs!!!! sunny and i both teared up a little because this was our first "normal" outing in a LOOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG time. the kids ate what we did (only it was GFCF) and they didn't know any different. IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!! here are some pictures...OH and we also go to see the fireworks at Epcot while we ate and the kids weren't to scared!!!
Kynsie eating her hotdog and french fries...

Kyan eating his "yummy delicious sandwich" (it was the hot dog bun!) he looked at me and said..."daddy...it's yummy delicious!!!)

Big Boy chowing down on his hamburger...he later ditched the bun and just ate the meat.

Despite the look on his face...he actually liked the hot dog!!!

Also along on the trip with us are Grammy and Granddad and Uncle Dustin, Aunt Suzanne and cousins Curry and Caden. We got to take some pictures with them tonight. Kyan was not into the picture taking and refused to cooperate and stood back a ways from the crowd (he gets it honest...i am not a picture guy and haven't been since i was little. there are pictures of me and my cousins and i'm actually turned around facing the wall so that my face wouldn't get in the picture!) while they were taking pictures, evidentally there was a baby snake that was on the ground...well don't you know that Braylen had to try and touch it...i don't think he was successful. i had gone to get strollers with grammy. here are those pics...
Here are (from l to r) Caden, Curry, Kynsie and Braylen...
Where's Kyan you ask....here he is!!!!
Here is a pic with them noticing the baby snake...

Here is Braylen trying to pick it up!

And I just want to leave you with a pic that should make your day. I took Braylen to get his hair cut the other day and was told to get it buzzed. I did...Sunny thinks it is a little to short, but I like it. Here is Braylen after we got home...he is such a cute kid...they all are!!!

well...that's all for day one...we're off to animal kingdom tomorrow...will let you know how it goes tomorrow night!!!!

I would love to plan a trip to Disney with my trio. We are all GFCF too. Two of trio have autism. I have heard that Disney is very accomodating. I would love to hear more about your vacation. Looks like everyone is having a great time!
