Bob Vila or Tim Taylor...

Well, last weekend, Jerry and I set out to start a "saturday" project that turned into a "weekend" project. Jerry is Barbara's husband and graciously volunteered to help me lay laminate wood floor. The carpet was just horrid and needed to go. we were afraid of the kids allergies and stuff like that. so we went and found laminate wood flooring that we liked and also some laminate tile for the kitchen that had to be ordered...that's another "weekend"!!! You might be asking...where were the kids? Good question...Barbara and her sister Rose told us that they were taking them for the weekend so that we could have a date on Friday night, work on the house, and go to church for the first time in a long time on Sunday morning. Thank you Barbara and Rose...AND...thank you to Jerry and Josh (their son) for giving up time to help with our house.

below is the before and after of the living room...

After...
ok...so the living room took a little longer to do than we thought!!! it was supposed to be "Click-X" or...snap and click. Well, it snapped and clicked but would not slide!!! so we had to figure out how to get it to move without splintering it and making it look bad. Also, as you can see we had to cut angles for the bay window...er...let me rephrase that...Jerry cut the angles!!! So after a pretty long day on the living room, we moved on to the Dining room on Sunday afternoon...

After...

it was a was not bad. we had to cut some boards and move some pieces around and pull some base board off but it did go down fairly easy. let's just say that the floor that is down looks great. we are waiting for the tile to come in and then we will do the kitchen and proceed with the wood through the rest of the house.

we made it through the weekend and no major disasters. we did have some errors and had to take breaks to calm down, because the stupid stuff doesn't work like the directions say!!! so, what do you guys think??

I love the floors. We did one room in our old house in Tennessee before we moved. I miss them. They were so pretty.

Good luck with the tile!

I never would have thought that was under your carpet? Looks good! If most people took away their carpet they would probably say the same thing!!!!
